Linda Ammons is an Artist in Residence for the State of Texas through the Texas Commission for the Arts. Ms. Ammons has been playing professionally in the Dallas Fort Worth area for 20 years. She is currently principal flutist and piccolo for the Metropolitan Winds and plays at the Meyerson regularly. She was a featured soloist, playing a movement from the Mozart Harp and Flute Concerto, on the March 2006 concert at the Meyerson. Ms. Ammons has been teacher of the year for Johnston Elementary in Irving and has taught elementary music there for twenty-two years. Linda Ammons has performed for the Texas Music Educators Association, the National Flute Convention and the Texas Flute Society.
